Game of the Month Begins!

Greetings Gamers!

I’d like to start a regular post on a game of the month. Inspired by Tegan J Gaming's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@TeganJGaming), I’ll focus on a game in my library each month. I’ll focus on the experience that the game attempts to encourage around our tables and screens. I'll talk about how the game mechanics interact with characters and the world the game inspires. I hope to try out some of those mechanics in short scenarios or solo play and review how they help evoke the experience of the game world.

I'd also like to present my thoughts about gamemastering and/or playing the game. How it is unique to other games - and some of the similarities - also - how the game is fun.

For the last week of March, I’ll focus on The One Ring (in honor of Tolkien Reading Day, March 25 https://www.tolkiensociety.org/events/tolkien-reading-day-2023/). In April, I think I’ll explore dark Davokar and Symbaroum and maybe a little exploration of Ruins of Symbaroum.

Future months will include Coriolis, Vaesen, Forbidden Lands, and my own steampunk fantasy hodgepodge world. I haven't decided on a ruleset for that, so, I hope to use that as a way to talk about world building and development.
